A Love Story

A Love Story
2:35am Aug 5th

He brought her to watch the sunset on the beach. He knew these were two of her favorite things: the beach & sunset. And this particular beach was her very favorite one. Its vast hugeness made her feel so small. The sun, sky & water tripled the size of any beach she had been to before. Not to mention the mountains rising high at her back. These wonderfully created gifts made her experience surreal. They sat on a rock that jetted out into the ocean. Their arms were like safety belts around each other giving the feeling of security on the edge of the rock. He loved her more than she could ever imagine. She loved him too but had always thought of herself as unworthy of a man, doubting that she would ever be an adequate helper. He knew this already and it broke his heart. He wanted her to believe in herself and the beauty she carried everywhere she went. As the sun set on the water a gold blanket covered everything in sight. As the rich haze caressed her features she was even more striking though he didn’t think it was possible. He indulged in her blue-green eyes as little specks of gold danced inside them. The wind was a force to be reckoned with tossing her curling locks in every direction. He convinced her to let it go. She knew of his love before arriving but felt there was a strong significance in this meeting on the rock. As they sat for almost an hour with only the sounds of crashing waves and swirling wind he knew every thought she had. In the chill of the winter air, warm tears began to roll from her speckled eyes. He had seen her cry a thousand times before. Tears of pain and each time he was in agony over her sorrow. This time they were tears of pure joy. Joy that she had only seen a glimpse of in the past months. He pressed his face to hers and felt the warmth of her soul as he caught each tear on his cheek. She finally understood the intensity of his commitment to her. She was letting go…letting go of all the insecurities that had cast a shadow over all her days as she clung to his love. He had brought her to another world from all that was comforting to tell her this. At that moment without a word from him she knew he would give her all that she desired. The thought of this humbled her and her tears doubled in size. In a soft whisper that was quickly stolen by the whipping wind of the night she said, “Yahweh, I love you.”

Her words proved to him that his love was not forsaken and all that he had done was worth saving her.

Hey Zana. This is James Parrish (Hartselle co '07). Just came across your blog and it has made my day. My wife, Stacy and I are praying for you and your ministry. It is really awesome to see people stepping out of their comfort zone to do something that can really make a difference (expecially when it is for Jesus).
Lastly, if you wouldn't mind, add Stacy and I to your prayer list as we will be moving to Japan at the end of the year to help start up a church. Only 3% of the population there are Christian... and only 10% have even had any kind of a presentation of the gospel. We are planning on staying there at least 2 years.
Anyways, good luck, God bless, and know that you have at least 2 more people praying for you now {:o)
Take care,
James Parrish
